RJ Griffith Brings Music and Motivation to Neighborhood Wellness Block Party in Gary, IN

Chicago singer-songwriter and actor RJ Griffith brought high-energy performance and heartfelt inspiration to the Neighborhood Wellness Block Party held Saturday, July 19 from 11 AM to 2 PM outside the Gary Health & Human Services Building at 1145 W. 5th Avenue. The event, hosted by the City of Gary, was dedicated to raising awareness about mental health and addiction services while providing a fun, family-friendly atmosphere for the entire community.

In addition to performing his original music, Griffith delivered a motivational message focused on mental wellness, self-worth, and the importance of reaching out for support when needed. Known for using his platform to inspire positive change, Griffith connected with attendees of all ages and encouraged community members to take advantage of the valuable local resources available to them.

“As someone who understands the power of both music and mental health advocacy, it was an honor to be part of an event that brings hope and healing directly to the community,” said Griffith. “Seeing families come together to support one another and access critical services is what true community looks like.”

The Neighborhood Wellness Block Party introduced residents to a range of services offered by the City of Gary, including addiction recovery programs, mental health counseling, family support services, and more. The event also featured food, games, activities for children, and a welcoming environment where attendees could learn, connect, and have fun.

Griffith’s appearance was part of his continued work to uplift underserved communities through music, motivational speaking, and his nonprofit organization Positive Vibes Only, which focuses on youth empowerment and wellness education.
