RJ Griffith to Join Evrod Cassimy as Special Guest for “Standing on Christmas Live 2026” at Thalia Hall
Singer-songwriter and actor RJ Griffith will join NBC Chicago morning anchor and recording artist Evrod Cassimy as a special musical guest for Standing on Christmas Live 2026, taking place Saturday, November 28, 2026, at Chicago’s historic Thalia Hall.
Presented by Disparti Law Group, the free holiday charity concert will bring together live music, special guests and the spirit of giving for an evening benefiting Springboard to Success, a nonprofit partner of the Chicago Housing Authority.
Griffith will take the stage as one of the evening’s special guests alongside Simone Green, joining Cassimy and his live band for a celebration of Christmas music and the holiday season. As part of his appearance, Griffith will perform holiday music including his original Christmas song, “Favorite Time of Year.”
The performance provides another opportunity for Griffith to share the positive, uplifting message that has become a hallmark of his music and work in the community. A Chicago-based singer-songwriter and actor, Griffith has performed on stages throughout the country while his original music has also been featured across television, advertising and other media.
Cassimy, an accomplished singer-songwriter in addition to his role as an NBC 5 Chicago news anchor, has released six albums and opened for artists including Boyz II Men, En Vogue, Patti LaBelle and Tamar Braxton. His music career has also become an important vehicle for giving back, with more than $200,000 in music proceeds donated to charitable causes, including college scholarships and assistance for families experiencing hardships during the holidays.
NBC 5 Chicago anchor Michelle Relerford will host Standing on Christmas Live 2026, which celebrates Cassimy’s holiday album of the same name while supporting Springboard to Success.
