RJ Griffith Contributes Original Music and Score to Upcoming South Shore Summer Documentary

Singer-songwriter, actor, and entertainer RJ Griffith will have a major musical presence in the upcoming documentary South Shore Summer, contributing multiple original songs, the film’s title track, and original score music.

The documentary will feature Griffith’s songs “Same 24” and “Smiley Face,” along with “South Shore Summer,” an original title track created specifically for the project. In addition to the featured songs, Griffith also composed original score music for the film, expanding his work beyond traditional song placements into music created specifically to support visual storytelling.

The project marks another step forward in Griffith’s growing sync and music-for-media résumé. His original music has previously been featured across television, film, advertising, and retail, including placements on NBC’s Kenan, FOX 32’s Good Day Chicago campaign, and Kroger-owned stores nationwide.

For Griffith, South Shore Summer presented an opportunity to contribute to the documentary in several different ways, combining existing original music with new material written specifically for the film.

“It’s always special when music can become part of a bigger story,” Griffith said. “Having multiple songs included, creating the title track, and getting the opportunity to contribute to the score made this project especially meaningful. I’m excited for people to experience the film and hear how the music fits into the story.”

The title track, “South Shore Summer,” was created specifically for the documentary and will be released in connection with the film’s rollout. Additional release details will be announced as the documentary’s distribution and premiere plans are finalized.

The film also features “Same 24” and “Smiley Face,” two songs that reflect Griffith’s signature approach to music rooted in positivity, perseverance, and uplifting messages.

Griffith’s work on South Shore Summer further showcases the versatility of his catalog and his ability to create music for a variety of visual media, from television and advertising to documentary film and original scoring.

As he prepares for a new run of original releases leading into his forthcoming 2027 album, You’re Too Positive, Griffith continues to expand his creative work across music, acting, live entertainment, and sync licensing.

More information about South Shore Summer, including release details and where to watch the documentary, will be shared as it becomes available.
